When the Maguires were the tribal heads of Fermanagh their centre of power was in Enniskillen Castle. Modern times, with its loop roads and bridges make the tourist forget that Enniskillen, replete with shopping malls and a fairly big lakeside theatre, is actually an island. It is the entry point to a world of lakes and marshes with the very best of fishing arrangements.

Town of Florence Court

Town of Florence Court It was once the residence of the flashy and unconventional Rococo. Special note should be taken of the exquisite plasterwork of the building and the matching pieces of furniture. To top it all there is an excellent garden within the walls and a lazy pathway for the walker.

Town of Garrison

Town of Garrison Garrison is conveniently located at the eastern end of Lough Melvin skirting the borders of Donegal. It is 21 km south west from the bordering village of Belcoo which snuggles between Upper and Lower Loughs of McNean. It offers a panoramic view of the lakes and encircling hills. Little wonder that a fine angling centre has developed. Salmon is in plenty together with three sub-species of wild trout sonaghan, gillaroo and ferox. Brown trout as well as salmonid add to the bouquet. The observer cannot but fail to notice the separate looks and dissimilar habits of each kind. Garrison caters to those who seek the outdoor with dormitory facilities. There are also arrangements for sports in the nearby modest beach.
