It is a village remembered for the victory the Protestants of Fermanagh won over the Jacobites in 1689. Crom Castle was the stronghold of the Earl of Erne. It is on a picturesque wooded demesne and open to all through the National Trust, 3 miles to the south west. Here can be seen the remains of another castle which goes back further in time to 1611.
