It is a county town with the river and many small lakes within easy distance, making it a dream resort for avid anglers. The Share Centre in the south is a unique holiday centre with special facilities for the handicapped. The pubs crowd the main street. Also there is a library which keeps informative matter on local folk culture.

Town of Kesh

Town of Kesh Near the largest lake, Lough Erne, in County Fermanagh is the idyllic village of Kesh. Lake Lough is 50 miles long and has recently been connected to the Shannon River by the Shannon-Erne waterway. It is ranked as the longest navigable inland waterway in the whole of Europe.

Town of Enniskillen

Town of EnniskillenThis county town is on an island which was a highway connecting Ulster and Connaught. The origins of Enniskillen are very ancient harking back to pre-historic tomes. When the Maguires were the tribal heads of Fermanagh their centre of power was in Enniskillen Castle. Modern times, with its loop roads and bridges make the tourist forget that Enniskillen, replete with shopping malls and a fairly big lakeside theatre, is actually an island. It is the entry point to a world of lakes and marshes with the very best of fishing arrangements.

Town of Garrison

Town of Garrison Garrison is conveniently located at the eastern end of Lough Melvin skirting the borders of Donegal. It is 21 km south west from the bordering village of Belcoo which snuggles between Upper and Lower Loughs of McNean. It offers a panoramic view of the lakes and encircling hills. Little wonder that a fine angling centre has developed. Salmon is in plenty together with three sub-species of wild trout sonaghan, gillaroo and ferox. Brown trout as well as salmonid add to the bouquet. The observer cannot but fail to notice the separate looks and dissimilar habits of each kind. Garrison caters to those who seek the outdoor with dormitory facilities. There are also arrangements for sports in the nearby modest beach.

Town of Roslea

Fishing at RosleaThe village of Roslea is on the border region between Fermanagh and Monaghan. From atop Carn rock one can get a birds eye view of the entire Ulster County. Of late the village made it to the headlines when it was found that President Clintons ancestors hailed from Roslea. Lakes abound in this area making it a haven for fisher folk who thrive on it. Some places are good for swimming but it is better to take the advice of the locals to find out the safest places.
