Tempo is in Lakeland country and is just east of Lough Erne. The place and its surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful.

Near the largest lake, Lough Erne, in County Fermanagh is the idyllic village of Kesh. Lake Lough is 50 miles long and has recently been connected to the Shannon River by the Shannon-Erne waterway. It is ranked as the longest navigable inland waterway in the whole of Europe.

Those in search for a bit of craic should aim for the nearest pub. There are lots — from smart cosmopolitan bars crowded with cruiser crews drinking Irischer Kaffee (Irish Coffee) to authentic traditional pubs where there’s always the likelihood of a few musicians dropping to for a toe-tapping session.

The final run of the Erne navigation is marked with this village of Belleek. It is bang on the borders with the Republic in fact some regions of the south over step into it. There is a low bridge opposite to the famous pottery centre. Here the current, at times reaches up to 6 knots. A sluice system controls the level of Lough Erne. Quaint holiday chalets make the region picture post card perfect. Every year Belleek throbs to the tune of the Fiddle Festival. Fiddlers from all over Ireland come to enliven a weekend with traditional Irish melodies.
