Town of Garrison
Garrison is conveniently located at the eastern end of Lough Melvin skirting the borders of Donegal. It is 21 km south west from the bordering village of Belcoo which snuggles between Upper and Lower Loughs of McNean. It offers a panoramic view of the lakes and encircling hills. Little wonder that a fine angling centre has developed. Salmon is in plenty together with three sub-species of wild trout sonaghan, gillaroo and ferox. Brown trout as well as salmonid add to the bouquet. The observer cannot but fail to notice the separate looks and dissimilar habits of each kind. Garrison caters to those who seek the outdoor with dormitory facilities. There are also arrangements for sports in the nearby modest beach.
