Town of Belleek
The final run of the Erne navigation is marked with this village of Belleek. It is bang on the borders with the Republic in fact some regions of the south over step into it. There is a low bridge opposite to the famous pottery centre. Here the current, at times reaches up to 6 knots. A sluice system controls the level of Lough Erne. Quaint holiday chalets make the region picture post card perfect. Every year Belleek throbs to the tune of the Fiddle Festival. Fiddlers from all over Ireland come to enliven a weekend with traditional Irish melodies.
